SpaceX posted a video highlighting milestones from Starship’s fourth test flight in June, including liftoff, booster separation, and landing of both stages.
At the end, an animation shows SpaceX’s Super Heavy booster being caught by the Mechazilla launch tower chopsticks as it returns to land.
SpaceX is aiming to catch Super Heavy for the first time on the upcoming Starship test flight, potentially in late July.
Catching the booster is meant to allow for quicker refurbishment and reflights.
CEO Elon Musk has tweeted they will try to catch Super Heavy on the next test.
Previous videos showed simulations and tests of the Mechazilla chopsticks’ ability to grasp Super Heavy.
Starship is a fully reusable launch system SpaceX is developing to enable Mars colonization and other missions. Catching Super Heavy is a key milestone as they work toward rapid reusability.
