Several commanders may have been eliminated in Beirut strike

– The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) carried out follow-up strikes in Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah targets.

– Two Hezbollah commanders were reportedly killed – Muhammad Ali Ismail, the commander of Hezbollah’s missile unit, and his deputy Hossein Ahmed Ismail. They were killed in southern Lebanon.

– The IDF also struck Hezbollah weapons depots and manufacturing sites in Beirut, Tyre, and Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. Residents were warned to evacuate areas that would be targeted.

– An Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander named Abbas Nilforoushan may have also been killed in an IDF strike on a Beirut suburb. He advised Hezbollah on military and diplomatic matters.

– The strikes came after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was targeted in an earlier IDF strike on Beirut, and after rockets were launched from Lebanon toward northern Israel.

– Hezbollah denied Israeli claims that targeted buildings in Beirut were used as weapons depots.
