The Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) showcased a new jet, named Baidi or “White Emperor,” at the China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition. This jet is potentially China’s first 6th-generation fighter.
The White Emperor is part of China’s Nantianmen Project, focusing on future aerospace technology development. It is designed for versatile, high-intensity missions, with enhancements in internal weapons bays, avionics, and maintenance.
This jet features an avant-garde, stealthy design with a smooth aerodynamic fuselage, delta-wing configuration, and reduced radar and other signatures. These aspects indicate optimization for high-speed, agile performance, and advanced stealth capabilities.
China’s development of the 6th-generation White Emperor fighter is seen as part of its strategy to counter the U.S. Air Force’s Next-Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program and maintain air superiority in future conflicts.
The White Emperor reflects China’s rapid progress in aerospace technology and its ambitions to set new standards in future fighter jet design and capabilities.
