Eminem is co-producing a documentary about superfans and the world of fandom titled “Stans.”
It takes its name from Eminem’s 2000 song “Stan” which popularized the term for overly obsessed superfans.
The documentary will explore the complex relationship between fame and super fandom through the lens of Eminem’s iconic career and most extreme fans.
It is being produced by Eminem’s production company Shady Films in association with DIGA Studios and Hill District Media.
Initial distribution will be through Paramount/MTV and it is slated for release later in 2024.
The film will look at both fanaticism and the relationship between artists and their fanbases.
It will provide an insider perspective from Eminem and use his music and famous song “Stan” as a lens to examine the topic.
The goal is a revealing and personal documentary that turns the camera on fans to examine the phenomenon of being a superfan.
