Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who have accused Michael Jackson of sexual abuse, are seeking to open sealed court records from Jackson’s 2005 trial.
The records are held by law enforcement in LA and Santa Barbara counties. Robson and Safechuck issued subpoenas to obtain the records.
MJJ Productions, Jackson’s production company, is fighting to block the release of the records.
The records reportedly contain nude photos of Jackson taken by police during an investigation in 1993 when another boy accused Jackson of abuse.
MJJ argues the photos were taken without Jackson’s consent during a court-ordered search and releasing them would invade his privacy.
Robson and Safechuck are suing MJJ, alleging it was complicit in Jackson’s alleged abuse. Their lawsuit was revived last year and is set for trial in 2025.
By seeking the sealed records, Robson and Safechuck appear to be gathering more evidence against MJJ ahead of the trial. MJJ is resisting the release of the sensitive photos.
