a Polish state-owned arms maker denying claims that its parts were used in Iranian drones.
Ukraine has accused Iran of providing drones to Russia that have been used to target Ukrainian infrastructure. Some of these drones have been shot down and analyzed by Ukraine.
Ukraine claimed that engines for the Iranian drones contained parts manufactured by Polish firm WZM PZL Swidnik. This firm produces engines for the Groszek mini-UAV, which Poland has exported to Ukraine.
However, WZM PZL Swidnik strongly denied these claims. A company spokesperson said none of their parts have been exported to Iran. They said Western intelligence agencies also found no evidence of their parts being used in Iranian drones.
The company spokesperson stressed they have reliable mechanisms to prevent unauthorized export or diversion of their goods. They produce only for NATO members and authorized export licenses.
Experts have said it is difficult to definitively prove the origin of individual components in complex military equipment without the manufacturers’ cooperation and records.
